Speaker Xhaferi holds farewell meeting with Ambassador Byrnes
Skopje, 6 September 2022 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi held on Tuesday a farewell meeting with US Ambassador to North Macedonia Kate Marie Byrnes.
Speaker Xhaferi thanked Ambassador Byrnes for her substantial role in the promotion of the political processes in the country, as well as the strong support to the integration processes in NATO and the EU, pointing out that North Macedonia and the United States foster excellent bilateral relations, the Parliament said in a press release.
Ambassador Byrnes noted that during her mandate several key decisions were made in the country and a historic event took place, i.e. the country’s NATO membership.
She expressed satisfaction with the opportunity t be part of the progress of the country as a whole and of the Parliament. Byrnes noted that everyone’s been impressed by North Macedonia’s achievements and its performances as a NATO member.
Speaker Xhaferi presented Ambassador Byrnes with a recognition for her overall contribution and wished her success in her future professional challenges.
