Speaker Mitreski meets Bulgarian Ambassador Angelov

Skopje, 29 February 2024 (MIA) - It is very important to maintain the positive attitude through meetings and visits, because this is the way to send messages of readiness for open discussion and will to enhance ties between the two neighboring countries, said Parliament Speaker Jovan Mitreski at a meeting with Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Angelov on Thursday.

Speaker Mitreski welcomed the establishment of the friendship group with the Parliament of North Macedonia in the National Assembly of Bulgaria, expecting such a group to be set up in the Parliament after the elections, followed by their meeting and positive cooperation.

Ambassador Angelov said communication between the two countries must continue in order to strengthen mutual cooperation, the Parliament said in a press release.

Interlocutors reaffirmed the importance of improving general relations and cooperation, with a focus on North Macedonia's European prospects. They highlighted the need to create and promote a positive rhetoric that leads to mutual trust, as well as to resume the dynamics in the bilateral agenda, for the purpose of producing specific and tangible results.

Mitreski and Angelov agreed that the only way to faster development is through enhancement of economic cooperation, with energy and infrastructure networking the key prerequisite for business development and resilience in time of crises, reads the press release.
