Skopje, 26 June 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Wednesday with a delegation of the Bavarian State Parliament, expressing great satisfaction with Germany's continued interest in promoting cooperation on all levels, including between parliaments, the Parliament said in a press release.
The Federal Republic of Germany, Gashi said, has been our strong supported in recent decades in achieving our strategic goals - the NATO membership, and currently efforts to join the EU as soon as possible, for which we are especially grateful.
He also highlighted the trade exchange.
"Germany is our biggest trade partner, ranked first, with whom we have had the most trade exchange in the world in the last 10 years. The high trade exchange is a result of significant German investments," Gashi stressed.
Delegation members expressed their gratitude for the meeting and wished Gashi success in the post as new Parliament Speaker.
Interlocutors also discussed the education system, exchanging views on dual education. Gashi noted that this topic is very important for the country and that, thanks to the interest of German companies to invest in the country and the project for merging the education system with some of those companies, dual education is included in seven high schools in the country.
Both sides agreed to strengthen Parliamentary cooperation, including cooperation on all levels. ssh/nn/
