Skopje, 25 June 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi received Wednesday for a farewell meeting Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ami Larsson Jain, expressing gratitude for her bonding role in the excellent bilateral relations.

Speaker Gashi highlighted Sweden's enormous support for the victims in the aftermath of the Kochani nightclub fire, as well as the support for the country's EU integration, the Parliament said in a press release.

Ambassador Larsson Jain said the support for the Kochani victims and the visit of a delegation from Gothenburg, including people who suffered something similar during a 1998 fire, is Sweden's biggest contribution during her stay in North Macedonia.

Interlocutors also referred to the Euro-integration process and agreed over its importance for all stakeholders, while noting the need for a compromise solution on all open issues and opening the path for the start of the EU accession negotiations, reads the press release.
