Skopje, 5 December 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi held Thursday a farewell meeting with Italian Ambassador Andrea Silvestri.
According to a press release by Parliament, Gashi said that he "highly values the cooperation with friendly Italy, a country that strongly supports North Macedonia's European integration path."
"Speaker Gashi stated that the Parliament remains committed to the good and continued cooperation with the Italian Embassy, with the same dynamic as before. He also expressed satisfaction with this spring's commemoration of the 30th anniversary since establishing diplomatic relations, characterized by traditionally excellent and friendly relations, active political dialogue, and dynamic sectorial cooperation," the press release reads.
Ambassador Silvestri expressed “particular satisfaction with the realization of his term in this country, which he considers a precious professional experience from a country with a multi-ethnic character and a rich pluralism in the political sphere.”
"Interlocutors discussed current developments, legislative agenda and the next steps in the country's European integration process, highlighting the commitment to nurturing and developing the country's democratic capacity. Gashi wished the outgoing Ambassador success in his future professional engagements, and exchanged gifts as a symbol of the successful and constructive cooperation so far," the Parliament said.ssh/ad/
