Skopje, 5 July 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi held Friday a farewell meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Zuo.

"Speaker Gashi expressed gratitude for Ambassador Zuo's contribution over the past years in maintaining and continuing the good relations that the two countries have nurtured for decades. He wished the Ambassador success in his future work and new duties," the Parliament said in a press release.

Interlocutors concurred that despite the geographical distance, the relations between the two countries are friendly, and are developing in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect.

"Participants in the meeting also discussed continuing and promoting inter-parliamentary cooperation, given that the Parliament of North Macedonia is in the process of constituting parliamentary groups for cooperation," the press release reads.

Ambassador Zuo highlighted the solidarity between the two countries during the handling of the Covid-19 crisis.

In addition, interlocutors also exchanged views on the possibility of intensifying economic cooperation and support, including cooperation in other areas. ssh/nn/
