Skopje, 25 February 2025 (MIA) - A parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Afrim Gashi is paying Tuesday through Thursday an official visit to the United Kingdom, following an invitation from the Speaker of the UK House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, in cooperation with the Westminster Democracy Foundation.    

The delegation includes vice-speaker Jovan Mitrevski, chair of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of the United Kingdom, Nikola Micevski, deputy coordinator of the parliamentary group of the European Front coalition, Arbana Pasholi, and Secretary-General of the Parliament, Marina Dimovska. 

The agenda includes meetings with the Speaker of the UK House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for North Macedonia, with the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, Daniel Greenberg, as well as with the chair of the Defence Committee, Tan Dhesi, the Parliament said in a press release. 

Also, Secretary-General of the Parliament, Marina Dimovska, will hold a separate meeting with the Clerk of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, Tom Goldsmith. 

Speaker Gashi and the delegation will attend Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs), which takes place every Wednesday in the Commons Chamber, reads the press release. 

In addition, the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in London will host a meeting for the Speaker and the delegation with representatives of the diaspora in the United Kingdom. 

Gashi and the delegation will also attend a lecture to mark the anniversary of the Council of Europe - "The Council of Europe: 75 years and beyond", which will be held in the UK House of Lords under the auspices of the Lord Speaker of the House of Lords, Lord McFall of Alcluith, with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Theodoros Roussopoulos, also in attendance.
