Speaker forwards candidate list for SEC member to leaders of opposition parties of ethnic Albanians
Skopje, 15 December 2023 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi has forwarded the report of the Committee on Election and Appointment Isesues and the list of candidates for a member of the State Election Commission (SEC) to leaders of the opposition parties of ethnic Albanians.
In the letter addressed to Izet Mexhiti, Afrim Gashi, Bilal Kasami, Arjanit Hoxha and Skender Rexhepi-Zeyd, Speaker Xhaferi says they should nominate a SEC member from the list by December 18.
The Committee's candidate list includes Berat Dauti, Abdush Demiri, Robert Trajkovski and Zulfi Adili and Samir Rakipi.
The Parliament should vote for the candidate at a plenary session. The procedure is taking place after Krenar Lloga left the SEC post and was elected Justice Minister.
