Spasovski: Frontex agreement first official document between EU and N. Macedonia to be signed in Macedonian language
Skopje, 15 October 2022 (MIA) – We were the first to initial the wording of the Frontex agreement, aligned with the European Union by all the countries in the region, but it was not signed at the time, precisely because the Government and I insisted that the agreement be signed in Macedonian language. And, it was in that process that the blockade by Bulgaria took place, said Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski.   “Now we have renewed the negotiations for signing the agreement with FRONTEX, and its importance is also seen from the aspect that it is the first official document between the EU and North Macedonia that will not only be translated in Macedonian, but also signed in Macedonian language, without any additional explanations and footnotes, it will simply be in Macedonian language,” Spasovski said in an interview with Kumanovo-based TV Plus on Friday.   According to Spasovski, this shows that what was said at the beginning of the negotiations - that the Macedonian language is guaranteed, will simply be confirmed with this agreement.
