Skytrax ranks Skopje International Airport among top 10 in Eastern Europe

Skopje, 11 April 2025 (MIA) - The international air transport rating organisation Skytrax has ranked Skopje International Airport, operated by TAV Macedonia, a subsidiary of TAV Airports, among the top 10 best airports in Eastern Europe, as part of its program called Skytrax World Airport Awards.
The awards, which Skytrax presents based on passenger votes, were announced at the Passenger Terminal Expo aviation fair held in Madrid, Spain, which brought together over 2,000 aviation industry professionals from more than 120 countries around the world.
The best airports in Eastern Europe for 2025, according to Skytrax, include: 1. Budapest; 2. Sofia; 3. Tbilisi; 4. Tallinn; 5. Riga; 6. Kutaisi; 7. Belgrade; 8. Bucharest; 9. Batumi; 10. Skopje, TAV Macedonia said in a press release on Friday.
"TAV Macedonia is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, which means we have been working dedicatedly for 15 years to offer the best travel experience to our passengers. Within the framework of the World Airport Awards by the renowned organisation Skytrax, this year, Skopje International Airport entered the top 10 airports in Eastern Europe. We are truly happy about this recognition, and we will continue to work on improving the quality of airport services and the overall passenger experience," said Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia General Manager.
In addition to Skopje International Airport, seven other airports operated by TAV Airports, a member of Groupe ADP, were recognized among the best airports in the world, within the Skytrax World Airport Awards. These are the airports in: Almaty - Kazakhstan, Ankara and Izmir - Turkiye, Batumi and Tbilisi - Georgia, Riga - Latvia and Medina - Saudi Arabia.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards are determined through the results of a passenger opinion survey, conducted between August 2024 and February 2025, i.e. over a six-month period. People from over 100 different nationalities assessed 575 airports worldwide, using key quality indicators, including the passenger experience of the services and products offered at airports.
The World Airport Awards are an independent program of the aviation organisation Skytrax, launched in 1999, and represent a global benchmark for airport excellence.
