Skopje Region has biggest share in GDP of North Macedonia in 2022: statistics

Skopje, 2 February 2024 (MIA) - The Skopje Region had the biggest share of 44.9% in the GDP of the Republic of North Macedonia in 2022, the State Statistical Office said Friday.

 

The share of the Pelagonia Region was 10%, followed by the Southwest Region with 8.8%, the Southeast Region with 8.7%, the East Region with 8%, the Polog Region with 7.5%, the Vardar Region with 7.3%, and the Northeast Region had the smallest share of 4.8%. 

 

The Skopje Region also has the highest GDP per capita, 25.7% higher than the national average. The Southeast Region is the only other region with GDP per capita by 8% higher than the national average. 

 

All other regions had GDP per capita below the average of the Republic of North Macedonia.
