Skopje Police Department: 87 people ID'd, three arrested over illegal possession of weapons

Skopje, September 9, 2024 (MIA) — Over the past two days, as a result of the increased police presence to help make Skopje a safer city, police officers asked 87 people to identify themselves and searched 37 vehicles, law enforcement authorities said.
According to the Interior Ministry in a press release, five people were taken into custody under Article 215 of the Criminal Code and three people were detained over the illegal possession of weapons.
"Also, two persons were taken into custody under Article 396 of the Criminal Code and one person under Articles 235 and 378. One person was detained to serve the remainder of his prison sentence," the release said.
According to the Interior Ministry, the increased police presence in Skopje will continue. mr/
