Skopje Poetry Festival ends with movies about Skopje
Skopje, 1 September 2022 (MIA) – “Lyrical Mapping of Skopje”, an event featuring a screening of 12 poetry films that will take place at Bukva bookstore on Thursday night at 9:00 pm will officially close the second edition of Skopje Poetry Festival. The films were made by Sandra Gjorgjieva, Marija Shakleva, Dime Danov and Valentina Bakti from Serbia, based on poems about Skopje from the poets: Blazhe Koneski, Ante Popovski, Radovan Pavlovski, Vladimir Martinovski, Vasko Markovski, Istok Ulchar, Biljana Stojanovska, Ana Golejshka-Dzikova, Julijana Velichkovska, Ivana Jovanovska, Gjoko Zdraveski and Andrej Al-Asadi. At the same location, starting from 6 pm, Sergei Timofeev from Latvia, Radmila Petrovic from Serbia and Vladimir Martinovski will hold a poetry writing workshop for young people on the topic of Urban Poetry. This is the last day that festival goers can see the collage exhibition by Valentina Bakti from Serbia titled “I’ve suffered, but I liked it”, dedicated to Skopje, which opened in Bukva on August 29. Vlada Urosevic, Vladimir Martinovski, Radmila Petrovic and Sergei Timofeev performed at the international night of the festival on Wednesday night, which ended with a short poetry-music performance by Pijan Slavej. The City of Skopje, MKC Skopje, Bukva Coffee and Book Shop and Stobi Winery have backed the festival. dk/ba/
