Skopje, 20 August 2024 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE after three years is admitting that it is in fact organizing and orchestrating the blockade of its municipal council members of the City of Skopje, Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska said.

Speaking at a news conference Tuesday, Arsovska said that in yesterday’s meeting with PM Hristijan Mickoski and Local Self-Government Minister Zlatko Perisnki she put forward solutions to the problems the City of Skopje has been facing, calling the meeting “a political circus for scoring political points.”

“I’d like to quote Perinski - the general conclusion is that the members of the City of Skopje council have no communication. It’s a good thing that Mickoski tried to fix the mistakes of the members of his party, unfortunately, it all looked like a political circus for scoring political points. I’m not in a competition for scoring political points,” she stated. 

After a meeting of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski with Arsovska on Monday, Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski said Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska is set to draft a plan that will be presented before the council members by the end of the week. Perinski stressed they did not hear anything constructive from the Mayor to solve the problems with the public waste disposal and transportation enterprises.
