Skopje hosts MEF 2024

Skopje hosts MEF 2024

Skopje, 11 June 2024 (MIA) -  Skopje is hosting on Tuesday the 7th edition of the Macedonian Energy Forum (MEF). MEF 2024 is organized by the EU Delegation to North Macedonia and ZIP Institute, with Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans as main partner.

PM-designate Hristijan Mickoski, EU Ambassador David Geer, ZIP Institute Executive Director Agim Selami and Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans Director Andi Dobrushi are to address the opening of the forum and deliver welcome remarks.

MEF is the premier event in the energy industry, bringing together innovators and leading experts to debate the latest developments in renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable practices.

According to the organizers, MEF 2024 takes place in a somewhat more stable energy environment this year. Most actors recovered from the energy crisis or built greater resilience toward energy volatility and energy challenges. However, there is still a lot of open discussion about the repowering trajectory and its pace.

A Berlin Process Insights Session entitled “Decoding a Decade: The Berlin Process and its Impact on the Green Energy Transition in the Western Balkans” was held in partnership with the Embassy of Germany to North Macedonia on Monday ahead of the official opening of the forum.
