Skopje holds 19th White Night

Skopje, 30 September 2023 (MIA) — Skopje will offer dozens of free cultural events including concerts, theater performances, art exhibitions, and film screenings on Saturday evening through Sunday morning as part of the capital's 19th White Night cultural programming.

 

The central White Night 2023 pop concert will be held at the Porta Macedonia triumphal arch at 8 pm, headlined by Andrijana Janevska, Nade Talevska, Dani Dimitrovska and Lambe Alabakovski accompanied by the Big Band Orchestra conducted by Ljupcho Mirkovski. The opening act will be Enterprise music school rock band.

 

Pedro Horizonte, Stefan Petanovski band, Xanadu band, Dimish band and DJs Rasta Girl, Charlie and Jaska will perform at the City Park.

 

Several folk music and dance ensembles will perform traditional Macedonian dances at Filip the Second square.

 

A DLUM Association of Artists of Macedonia group exhibition will be on display at GTC, and Osten will host an exhibition by School of Architecture and Design students at the University American College Skopje.

 

The Faculty of Dramatic Arts will stage several theater plays and screen films. The Cinematheque, as well, will show Macedonian films and music.

 

Skopje Fashion Festival will be held at 'Pure' night club, showcasing the work of fashion designers Ivana Knez, George Basarevikj as well as Boshko and Cece T.

 

Other cultural institutions participating in White Night 2023 include the Cultural and Information Center Skopje, Ko-Ra gallery, Children's Cultural Center Karposh, Museum of the City of Skopje, Museum of Contemporary Art, Miladinov Brothers City Library, the National Gallery, the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, and the Turkish Theater.

 

Admission is free to all events. Public transportation will also be free in the evening and overnight, beginning Saturday at 6 pm until Sunday 5 am.
