Siljanovska-Davkova: Successful Macedonian entrepreneurs contributing to closer ties between U.S. and Balkan businesses

New York, 23 September 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova attended Tuesday a reception organized by the American Balkan Chamber of Commerce as part of her working visit to the United States for the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. At the reception, the President was accompanied by Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski.

“I am glad that successful Macedonians, entrepreneurs from the U.S. are the initiators of this chamber of commerce and are contributing to closer ties between the American and Balkan business communities, as well as cooperation between the countries of the region. I believe that the easiest way for us to integrate within the EU is as a region. Cooperate with each other and promote the Macedonian investment potentials. We are a small country, but with an excellent location and excellent conditions for investments,” Siljanovska-Davkova said at the reception hosted by the American Balkan Chamber of Commerce. 

As part of her activities during her trip, the President will address the 2025 Concordia Annual Summit later Tuesday. According to MIA’s reporter in New York, Siljanovska-Davkova will also address the World Leaders Forum at Columbia University.

The President will then attend a reception organized by the Permanent Mission of Austria to the UN, which will be attended by the Austrian President, Chancellor, and Foreign Minister, and is being held on the occasion of Austria’s candidacy for membership in the UN Security Council (2027-2028).

Siljanovska-Davkova will also attend a reception hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening. 

On Monday, the President addressed a High-Level Meeting to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the 4th World Conference on Women with the theme “Recommitting to, resourcing and accelerating the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.

The President also attended the "Women Rise for All" lunch hosted by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, as well as a reception honoring heads of delegations from Southeast Europe organized by the American Balkan Chamber of Commerce, and a high-level dinner held during the Annual Meeting of the UNGA Platform for Women Leaders. 

As part of her visit to the United States, the President will address the General Debate of the 80th General Assembly on Thursday and is also expected to participate in several summits, leaders’ forums, and high-level meetings held on the sidelines of the General Assembly.  

President Siljanovska-Davkova will also visit Detroit as part of her trip to the United States.
