Skopje, 25 June 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova held meetings Wednesday with the President of Czechia, Petr Pavel, the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kristen Michal, and the Prime Minister of Belgium, Bart De Wever, on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in The Hague, the President’s Office said in a press release.
Interlocutors at the meeting expressed satisfaction with the excellent bilateral cooperation and partnership in various areas, as well as support for the country’s Euro-integration path.
“Thanking President Petr Pavel for the principled and consistent support by Czechia, Siljanovska-Davkova highlighted ongoing challenges and politically motivated attempts to block the country’s European path. She stressed the necessity of protecting the national identity and underscored that issues related to identity, or the interpretation of history, cannot be a part of the European Union’s negotiating framework. President Pavel said the country can count on continued Czech support in the Euro-integration process,” the President’s Office said in the press release.
Reiterating “a clear position against bilateralization”, Siljanovska-Davkova stressed that she deeply values Estonia’s principled support for the EU’s enlargement policy, highlighting the strategic and geopolitical significance of the process.

“Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said the country is fulfilling the Copenhagen criteria well and expressed readiness to assist in the process of the Macedonian Euro-integration," Siljanovska-Davkova's Office said.

The issue of unblocking the country’s accession process was also the focus of the President’s meeting with the Prime Minister of Belgium, Bart De Wever.
“De Wever noted that the EU member states should have a clearer and more sincere position regarding the enlargement. He stressed that integrations must happen in line with the progress and reforms implemented by the aspiring members,” the President’s Office said.
