Siljanovska-Davkova begins official visit to Azerbaijan, meets with Aliyev in Baku

Skopje, 11 March 2025 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, was welcomed Tuesday with the highest state and military honors by her host, Ilham Aliyev, Zuğulba Presidential Palace in Baku. 

A tête-à-tête meeting between Siljanovska-Davkova and Aliyev is currently underway, followed by a plenary session with both delegations.

The Macedonian state delegation also includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, and the Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska.

She is also scheduled to deliver a lecture to the academic community and students at ADA University in Baku on Tuesday afternoon.

As part of her official visit to Azerbaijan, President Siljanovska-Davkova will also meet with the Speaker of Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, and Prime Minister Ali Asadov on Wednesday.

As part of her visit to Azerbaijan, Siljanovska-Davkova will attend the 12th Global Baku Forum titled “Rethinking World Order: Turning Challenges into Opportunities.” The event, organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre on March 13-15.

She will address the forum’s opening ceremony and will give a speech on the topic “The UN Pact for the Future: Building a New Global Consensus Path to Peace.”

The forum is expected to gather around 400 participants, including current and former heads of state and government, representatives of international organizations, and civil society.
