Skopje, 22 April 2025 (MIA) – Following the death of Pope Francis, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova wrote on Facebook page that after an unforgettable forty-minute conversation, she will remember him for his remarkable intellect, wisdom, warmth, and simplicity.

“As the people’s Pope, he extended Easter greetings to the Christian family and peacefully passed into eternity Monday morning. I will remember him for his remarkable intellect, wisdom, warmth, and simplicity, after an unforgettable forty-minute conversation,” Siljanovska Davkova said.

Last year, President Siljanovska Davkova, during her several-day visit to Rome and the Vatican for the celebration of May 24 – the Day of Pan-Slavic Educators Ss. Cyril and Methodius, met with Pope Francis. During the meeting, they discussed, among other things, the Vatican’s support for the path towards European Union membership, as well as the fact that we serve as an example of religious dialogue.
