Siljanovska Davkova - Orban: No alternative to full-fledged EU membership

Skopje, 12 November 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Tuesday with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, discussing bilateral political and economic relations, and Macedonian aspirations for European Union membership.
Siljanovska Davkova and Orban agreed that Hungary continues to strongly support the Macedonian Euro-integration, with the President thanking Budapest for its support in many fields, as well as the fact that the enlargement issue is high on the agenda of the current Hungarian EU Presidency.
Siljanovska Davkova said the country has no alternative to full-fledged EU membership, expressing hope for a fair accession process that considers the dignity of Macedonian citizens, the President's Office said in a press release.
