Shaqiri-Koja: OSCE continues to support process of building education through mutual respect
Skopje, 7 February 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri and OSCE Head of Mission, Ambassador Clemens Koja, agreed Monday over the continued progress of bilateral cooperation in the interest of enhancing interethnic relation and coexistence. “Education reforms aim at creating schools that support and initiate activities bonding young people, regardless of their ethnic, religious or other background. Accepting diversities as a value, fighting discrimination, violence and intolerance, lie in core of the new curricula and learning materials. The OSCE Mission has provided great support and cooperation in this regard,” said Minister Shaqiri. Ambassador Koja said OSCE’s experiences remain at the ministry’s disposal, within the efforts for positive changes in the education process, which would produce independent and responsible citizens, leaders in democratic processes, the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release. Shaqiri also briefed Koja on other developments in the education sector, primarily on the start of the second semester amid pandemic circumstances and the efforts for ongoing in-person instruction.
