Shahpaska: Over 65% of Skopje kindergarten workers vaccinated
Skopje, 16 August 2021 (MIA) – Measures over reducing or increasing the number of children at kindergartens will be taken in line with the epidemiological situation in the country, Labor Minister Jagoda Shahpaska told reporters on Monday after meeting with the heads of Skopje kindergartens ahead of the start of the new school year and expectations for an influx of students. “Over 65% of Skopje kindergarten employees have been vaccinated,” the Minister stressed. “Kindergarten groups admit 15-20 children depending on their age. Protocols will be created in line with the epidemiological situation. Currently, only 8,300 children attend kindergartens due to summer vacations, while protocols allow for 25,600,” Shahpaska said. The Minister briefed reporters that she had discussed with the heads of Skopje kindergartens the start of the next school year and expectations for an influx of students at kindergartens, as well as COVID-19 protocols, the percentage of vaccinated workers, etc. She added that she’s set to hold soon an online meeting with the head of kindergartens from across the country. Shahpaska urged unvaccinated kindergarten staff to get the jab, because it’s crucial that they show responsibility. “By abiding to health protocols, which show that vaccinated patients experience only milder symptoms, we take care of our own health, but also contribute to public health,” said Minister Shahpaska.
