Seven Stars 2022 exercise hosts Distinguished Visitors Day in Krivolak
Krivolak, 6 October 2022 (MIA) - The Distinguished Visitors Day took place on Thursday in Krivolak training area within computer-assisted exercise “Seven Stars 2022” which is launched by the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) Command, stationed in North Macedonia. Deputy Defence Minister Bashkim Hasani, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Army Major General Azim Nuredin, representatives of the Ministries of Defence and the Armed Forces of SEEBRIG member countries, military attachés and other guests were given an opportunity to watch the performance of the participants in the exercise. This major exercise, which is conducted every two years, is the main training activity of SEEBRIG, aiming to improve operational capabilities through exercising HQ SEEBRIG and the affiliated units, developing a common understanding of Peace Support Operations, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Operations, the Army’s General Staff said in a press release. More than 200 military and civilian personnel from SEEBRIG Member Nations, augmentees and observers from NRDC-GR, NRDC-T, LITPOLUKR Brigade, CMDR CoE and OSCE practice NATO procedures, demonstrate interoperability and exercise command and control procedures within the HQ SEEBRIG and with the Response Cells being represented by the SEEBRIG affiliated units. All activities are simulated in Army facilities in Veles, Kumanovo camp Boro Menkov and Krivolak training area through computers, maps and war games, reads the press release. During a Distinguished Visitors Day, it was underlined that a dynamic demonstration of tactical level activities was conducted in Krivolak training area by SEEBRIG’s affiliated unit from host nation. It was also noted that “Seven Stars 2022” exercise strengthens SEEBRIG capability to contribute to peace, cooperation and stability in South-Eastern Europe and also demonstrates its preparedness for conducting multinational PSOs whenever and wherever requested by UN or OSCE. It was further noted that the South-Eastern Europe Brigade was established in 1999, based on the Regional Cooperation Agreement in the Field of Defense known as the Multinational Peacekeeping Force Agreement for Southeast Europe (MPRA), signed in 1998 in Skopje by the Ministers of Defence of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Romania and Turkey. The SEEBRIG Command, which is rotating, is located in the Kumanovo camp Boro Menkov from 2020 until 2026.
