Serbia sends four helicopters to extinguish fires in parts of the country, says Spasovski
Skopje, 3 August 2021 (MIA) – Serbia has sent four helicopters to extinguish the wildfires, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski.
“They sent us four helicopters to extinguish the fires, which will join our two helicopters. We’ll do the best we can to put out raging blazes across the country,” Spasovski wrote on Facebook calling Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin “our dear friend.”
The Minister thanked Serbia for offering help when it’s most needed. “Thank you to Minister Vulin for visiting today and for the support and assistance to North Macedonia. It’s important to know you have a friend when in need. Our friends are with us and we are with our citizens,” he said.
The Minister said the situation was put under control “thanks to the functioning system, professionalism of firefighters, police, the army and the solidarity of the citizens as well as media coverage.”
“The situation is being closely monitored, all capacities are at disposal and others are expected to be sent by our friends and allies,” Spasovski said writing on Facebook.
