Selakovic: Serbia committed to strengthening good-neighborliness policy
Belgrade, 2 August 2022 (MIA) – Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic, who headed the country’s delegation to the Ilinden observances in St.Prohor Pchinski monastery, said Tuesday that Serbia is committed to strengthening good-neighborliness, MIA reports from Belgrade.
“Serbia’s policy is a testimony of this. The country is committed to strengthening the policy of good-neighborliness and cooperation with neighbors. As is the case with the Open Balkan initiative, we are trying to demonstrate how much the spirit of tolerance and friendship is something that will always overcome the spirit of intolerance and hostility,” Selakovic told RTS.
State-church delegations from North Macedonia and Serbia, led by President Stevo Pendarovski and FM Selakovic, laid wreaths and paid respects to Ilinden and the site where the first session of the Anti-Fascist Assembly of the National Liberation of Macedonia (ASNOM) took place on 2 August 1944.
An ASNOM memorial plate was also placed in the monastery on the occasion.
