SEC: Voter turnout 39.61% until 5 pm

Skopje, 19 October 2025 (MIA) - The State Election Commission (SEC) said voter turnout in the local elections stood at 39.61% by 5 pm. Voting is proceeding smoothly and no reports of irregularities have been received so far.
SEC spokesperson Radica Todorovska Aleksovska said data had been received from 3,221 polling stations, covering 1,699,296 registered voters.
The data received so far cover 92.72 percent of polling stations.
"The highest voter turnout has been recorded in Vevchani 61.84%, Debarca 53.41%, Demir Kapija 57.65%, Dojran 60.91%, Zelenikovo 52.77%, Karbinci 50.25%, Konche 55.13%, Kriva Palanka 56.01%, Krivogashtani 52.33%, Krushevo 60.31%, Lozovo 61.09%, Makedonski Brod 59.66%, Probishtip 56.43%, Rankovce 57.07%, Rosoman 58.69%, Staro Nagorichane 52.26%, Chashka 65.50%, and Chucher Sandevo 51.74%. The lowest turnout was registered in Shuto Orizari 30.38%, Radovish 31.57%, Mavrovo Rostushe 25.89%, Plasnica 32.87%, Vrapchishte 20.94%," Todorovska Aleksovska said at a press conference.
Voter turnout by municipalities in the City of Skopje was as follows: Aerodrom 39.32%, Butel 42.29%, Gazi Baba 35.55%, Gjorche Petrov 37.73%, Karposh 42.86%, Kisela Voda 39.37%, Saraj 47.94%, Centar 42.35%, Chair 45.09%, and Shuto Orizari 30.38%.
"During the 2021 local elections, voter turnout in Skopje stood at 41.38 percent by 5 pm," Todorovska Aleksovska noted.
According to her, so far there has been no announcement of extending the voting period after 7 pm in any of the polling stations.
The SEC urges election bodies not to hinder the work of domestic media workers and not to require them to obtain SEC accreditations.
