Skopje, 24 September 2025 (MIA) - The State Election Commission (SEC) is set to draw Wednesday the order of candidates on the ballot for the 2025 local elections. The campaign for the elections will begin on Monday, September 29, and will conclude on October 17, 24 hours before the elections. Citizens will vote for mayors and council members on October 19, with run-offs set to be held on November 2.  

Political parties, coalitions and independent candidates will participate in the elections.

According to the Commission, the total number of confirmed lists of mayoral candidates for municipalities across the country and the City of Skopje stood at 303 as of Tuesday, while the number of total confirmed lists of candidates for municipal council members stood at 558.

At the session on Wednesday, the Commission will also hold a draw for the allocation of advertising panels and billboards for the local elections. The maximum number of advertising panels and billboards that may be used for political advertising is 50 percent of the total number within the territory of a given municipality and the City of Skopje.
