Skopje, 28 October 2025 (MIA) – The State Election Commission published Tuesday the final results for the local elections in 44 municipalities where a mayor was elected in the first round. A runoff vote will be held in 33 municipalities on November 2.

“With today’s announcement of 11 municipalities where the mayor was elected in the first round, along with the previous 33 from last Thursday where no complaints were filed, a total of 44 municipalities have completed the mayoral election in the first round. Thirty-three municipalities remain, which will proceed to a run-off vote,” said SEC President Boris Kondarko.

Regarding the election of municipal council members, Kondarko said voting will be repeated only in the Municipality of Shuto Orizari due to results from three polling stations being annulled by the Administrative Court.

“After conducting a simulation, it was determined that the number of registered voters in these three polling stations could theoretically influence the allocation of seats in the municipal council. Based on this, and in accordance with the Administrative Court’s decisions to annul the voting, the State Election Commission has decided that voting in these three polling stations in Shuto Orizari for the election of Council members will be repeated on November 2,” Kondarko said.
