SEC preliminary results: SIljanovska-Davkova - 63.42 percent, Pendarovski - 30.07 percent
Skopje, 8 May 2024 (MIA) - Preliminary results of the presidential runoff that the State Election Commission (SEC) is releasing at its website show that VMRO-DPMNE candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova is leading with 235,552 votes or 63.42 percent, while SDSM-backed Stevo Pendarovski has garnered 111,703 votes or 30.07 percent, with about half of ballots counted.
A candidate is elected president if he/she receives the majority of at least 40 percent of registered votes, namely 362,864 out of the 725,727 votes, as stipulated in the Electoral Code.
SEC will release the voting results successively, as it receives them from the polling stations.
