SEC confirms presidential candidacies
- The State Election Commission (SEC) at a session on Thursday unanimously confirmed 2024 presidential bids submitted by Stevo Pendarovski (SDSM-led coalition), Stevcho Jakimovski (GROM), Maksim Dimitrievski (ZNAM), Arben Taravari (Worth It coalition), Biljana Vankovska (Levica), Bujar Osmani (DUI) and Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova (VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition).
Skopje, 21 March 2024 (MIA) - The State Election Commission (SEC) at a session on Thursday unanimously confirmed 2024 presidential bids submitted by Stevo Pendarovski (SDSM-led coalition), Stevcho Jakimovski (GROM), Maksim Dimitrievski (ZNAM), Arben Taravari (Worth It coalition), Biljana Vankovska (Levica), Bujar Osmani (DUI) and Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova (VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition).
SEC President Aleksandar Dashtevski said that candidates Jakimovski and Taravari have 48 hours to submit their tax number and checking account.
He added that all presidential candidate lists were delivered on time.
SEC member Boban Stojanoski stressed that in accordance with Article 160 of the Election Code, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) filed a request for the accreditation of observers and a list of observers to SEC for the observation mission for the presidential and parliamentary elections. SEC members unanimously adopted the request.
SEC also adopted the Guidelines for the identification badges of the electoral bodies, electoral administration, authorized representatives of candidate list bearers, international and domestic observers for the election of president and MPs.
Election campaign for the April 24 presidential elections will begin on April 4 at 12 am, and will last until midnight, April 22. The deadlines for preparing the lists of MPs are still running and should be submitted to SEC by the authorized representatives of the proposers by midnight on April 2 at the latest. ssh/sk/
