Skopje, 17 October 2025 (MIA) – The citizens of Skopje on October 19 should vote for vision, knowledge and results, said Kaja Shukova, SDSM’s candidate for mayor of the City of Skopje, on Friday.

Speaking at a news conference ahead of Saturday’s election silence, Shukova reiterated that she is supported by an honourable and professional team that “knows how to turn Skopje into a modern, organized and urban city.”

She said her campaign has been focused on concrete solutions that bring the capital back to life. 

“We have solutions even for the hardest issues, such as waste, Drisla, Vardarishte. With professional management, modern technologies and European standards, Skopje will finally become a clean and sustainable city. Skopje is our home and it’s time we fight for it,” stressed Shukova.

The mayoral candidate presented, as she said, the clear plan for Skopje “that will breathe again and live again – with many green areas, new parks, a botanical garden, clean river Vardart and safe traffic.”

“The vision for Skopje includes a city without urban chaos, with pedestrian zones, bike lanes and functioning public transportation. A city where women are supported, young people have opportunities, children are offered education and fun activities with artists enjoying their freedom. My vision is based on knowledge, honesty and smart management. We have a plan and a team that knows how to implement it. On October vote for me and SDSM’s list of municipal councillors. Vote for Skopje that is fighting back, a Skopje that still believes. We’re fighting for our home,” concluded Shukova.
