Sali: Health system won’t face shortage of electricity
Skopje, 27 September 2022 (MIA) – Healthcare will function as it has for the past 30 years and won’t face shortage of electricity or heating supply at all, said Health Minister Bekim Sali.
In response to a reporter’s question at Tuesday’s handover of a donation from Islamic Relief to the University Clinic of Pulmonary and Allergic Diseases, Minister Sali said two weeks ago a letter was sent to all public health institutions to ensure electricity saving.
“If we manage to save up to five percent, not in the vital part, but in the supporting parts, such as lighting of the facilities and parks during nighttime, we will achieve minimum savings in the complete system,” the Minister said.
Head of the Pulmonary Clinic, Dejan Dokikj, said he expects the Clinic to receive sufficient funds from the Health Fund and expects support from all institutions.
“I feel obliged to negotiate with the Health Fund, so that we can get additional funds. All institutions should step up support, because it is a matter of the patients’ lives. The Clinic is in debt, the electricity bills are shared with all internal clinics, so we don't know the exact amount for our clinic, because costs are shared in percentage,” Dokikj added.
