Skopje, 12 August 2025 (MIA) – The road section from Breznica through the Jasen National Park to Makedonski Brod has been completely closed to traffic due to a fire, public enterprise "Makedonija Pat" said on Tuesday.

The Crisis Management Center (CMC) reports that as of 7 am, there are 16 wildfires across the country, with one active fire remaining. 

The active fire is located in the municipality of Makedonski Brod, in the area Jasen, where mixed forest is burning.

According to the CMC, the fire between the villages of Chelopeci and Miokazi, in Kichevo municipality, has been put under control.

Fourteen fires have been extinguished, including two in the municipality of Kumanovo, as well as in the municipalities of Bosilovo, Vrapchishte, Tetovo, Kochani, Resen, Novo Selo, Krushevo, Tearce, and Prilep. 

In the Skopje region, fires were put out in the municipality of Saraj near the villages of Radusha and Svilarе, and in the village of Shishevo, as well as the fire in the village of Arachinovo.
