Renovated Gevgelija hospital gets operating room, diabetes center, physiotherapy unit
Skopje, 31 July 2021 (MIA) — Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and the Minister of Health Venko Filipche visited the newly renovated General Hospital in Gevgelija, which has an operating room for the first time in 60 years as well as a new laboratory, diabetes center, and physiotherapy unit. According to a press release, the Gevgelija hospital also has new medical equipment and new nephrology, urology, and orthopedic units as well as fully renovated neurology and obstetrics units. The investment worth over EUR 375,000 euros confirms the government’s strong commitment to building an efficient health care system for the citizens, PM Zaev said. Health Minister Filipche said renovations were not the only improvements done in the Gevgelija hospital. “In the past three years, this government has allocated over 30 million euros to raises for health workers,” Filipche said. “I’m glad that now fewer and fewer of them are leaving our country.” mr/
