Skopje, 21 August 2024 (MIA) - REK Bitola’s Bloc 1 was shut down around 12 pm Wednesday due to an outage of a 110 kV transmission line in MEPSO’s system.
The regular functioning of Bloc 1 was interrupted at the critical moment since it wasn’t able to deliver the produced electricity to the Macedonian electrical power system, after which the bloc was shut down in line with security protocols, Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM) said in a press release.
ESM said REK Bitola’s Bloc 2 is producing electricity without any issues since it is connected to MEPSO’s system through a separate, 400 kV transmission line, while Bloc 3 is currently undergoing overhaul.
Experts are working to overcome the issue and reconnect Bloc 1 to the grid.
