REK Bitola doubles electricity production, Block 1 reconnected to national grid
Skopje, 16 October 2022 (MIA) – REK Bitola has doubled its electricity production capacity after its Block 1 was synchronized late Saturday with the country’s power grid.
“Block 1 is back in operation after 23 days of overhaul and supplies electricity together with Block 2. The overhaul, which usually lasts 45 days or more, was completed in a record time, primarily thanks to the employees of REK Bitola and the engagement of exclusively domestic companies,” the Government said in a press release.
According to the Production Plan and unless circumstances change, REK Bitola should continue to operate with two blocks until the beginning of November. After the new transformer is installed to Block 3, Block 2 should also undergo a short-term overhaul in order to increase the reliability and stability of the capacity at the peak of the heating season.
