Skopje, 4 October 2022 (MIA) - Block 1 of REK Bitola, the coal-fired power plant located near Bitola, is undergoing an overhaul, which is planned to be completed by October 15, ESM said Tuesday. "Due to the energy crisis in the country and across Europe, REK Bitola block overhauls will be completed in less than 30 days instead of the usual 45+ days. The focus is put on the most vital parts of the stations, which should provide stability of the production after a technical and technological renovation," said the statement. Block 2 will undergo the same activities, the electricity producing company said, adding that a transformer for Block 3 is set to arrive before REK Bitola resumes operations with full capacity.
