RCC’s Bregu expects agreement on movement with IDs in Western Balkans to be operational by year’s end
Skopje, 28 October 2022 (MIA) - The international agreements on movement with identity cards, on the recognition of higher education qualifications and on the recognition of the professional qualifications of doctors of medicine and dentistry, as well as architects, would come into force within 30 days after their delivery to North Macedonia as depository country to these agreements, after they are ratified in the Western Balkan countries, said Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Majlinda Bregu, in an interview with the Bosnian online media outlet "Politicki.ba".  “We are extremely glad that last week the foreign ministers of the six countries approved these three agreements on which the RCC worked intensively for two years and with the signatures of the leaders during the summit in Berlin (next week), they will get the green light,” said Bregu. She added that since it is an international agreement, ratification is expected in the parliaments of all countries, but she hopes that the ID card agreement will be operational by the end of the year. dk/nn/
