Quintetto Adriatico ensemble to give concert at Ohrid Summer Festival

Ohrid, 29 July 2024 (MIA) – Following yesterday's premiere performance of the theater play "King Lear" as part of the American evening, the Ohrid Summer Festival resumes on Monday with a concert performance by Quintetto Adriatico.

The ensemble Quintetto Adriatico is a new project of Italian pianist Federico Lovato, Croatian cellist Latica Anić and Croatian-Macedonian double bass player and long-term Ohrid Summer Festival collaborator, Ilin – Dime Dimovski.

The quintet is the fruit of Lovato and Dimovski’s almost twenty yearlong artistic collaboration with the San Marco Foundation Symphony Orchestra, the Solisti in Villa String Orchestra and many chamber ensembles in Portogruaro (Italy) for the Santa Cecilia Music Festival with notable musicians.

In constant search for musical excellence and new programmes they approached Croatian cellist extraordinaire Latica Anić – international soloist and teacher of chamber music at the music academy in Lichtenstein and for the presentation of this beautiful program together they also invited: Macedonian violinist Frosina Bogdanoska - concert master with the Carinthian State Symphony Orchestra in Austria, with whom Dimovski is a long-term collaborator from the international No Borders Orchestra, as well as several other chamber music projects with the Ignaz Fuchs ensemble.

The quintet is complete by young Croatian viola prodigy Dagmar Korbar, winner of this year’s solo viola - Papandopulo music competition, principal of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra viola section and assistant professor at the Zagreb music academy.

At the Ohrid Summer Festival concert they are joined by Macedonian pianist Jana Pavlovska Moltz who lives and works in the United States.

The concert will be held at St. Sophia Church at 9 pm.
