Public to be duly informed on EU integration plan: spokeswoman
- Government spokeswoman Marija Miteva said the public will be informed once the government completes a solution on how the country’s EU integration process should proceed.
Skopje, 9 October 2024 (MIA) – Government spokeswoman Marija Miteva said the public will be informed once the government completes a solution on how the country’s EU integration process should proceed.
“It is not something that will be shrouded in secrecy. The government’s commitment to the EU integration process has been always opened before the public with clearly stated conditions. Once there are conditions, the public will be informed,” Miteva told a news conference on Wednesday.
Earlier, the largest opposition party in the Macedonian political bloc urged the government to reveal its EU integration plan.
SDSM leader Venko Filipche said all mechanisms will be used, including convening a parliament session, so as to get an answer from the prime minister involving the country’s EU accession process.
We, he said, have been demonstrating constructiveness over the resumption of the EU integration path of the country, unfortunately, the prime minister is yet to provide us with an answer.
“Our idea for a parliamentary session was offered because the legislative house is the place where decisions are made,” said Filipche following his last week’s call for a closed session to be scheduled in which the future steps in the EU integration process will be revealed.
