Skopje, 10 August 2022 (MIA) - A sample taken of a suspected monkeypox case is expected to arrive at the Public Health Institute by the end of the day. The patient, who is from Kichevo, is in good health condition and there's no need for hospitalization, said the Head of the Commission for Infectious Diseases, Aleksandar Petlichkovski. "The patient has been located and contacted by a local epidemiologist. The initial epidemiological interview has been conducted. We have tests at a disposal and we, at the Public Health Institute, should determine soon whether it is a case of the monkeypox disease," he told Sitel TV. The Kichevo patient got a rash a few days ago, which is one of the symptoms of monkeypox. Petlichkovski said initial lab analyses have been conducted. The Infectious Diseases Commission is set to hold a meeting on the monkeypox situation.
