Public Administration Minister Minchev meets USAID representatives
- Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev met Wednesday with a USAID delegation, led by the head of the Office of Democracy and Governance in North Macedonia, Marc Ellingstad, discussing bilateral cooperation with the aim of improving democratic governance, transparency, and accountability in the public sector.
Skopje, 11 September 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev met Wednesday with a USAID delegation, led by the head of the Office of Democracy and Governance in North Macedonia, Marc Ellingstad, discussing bilateral cooperation with the aim of improving democratic governance, transparency, and accountability in the public sector.
Minister Minchev expressed gratitude for USAID's long-standing cooperation and support to North Macedonia, especially regarding institutional reforms, building capacities, and promoting a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused administration, the Ministry of Public Administration said in a press release.
"Our cooperation with USAID has been instrumental in fostering reforms that support democratic governance and strengthen public sector institutions. We expect to strengthen cooperation to respond to the needs of our citizens, in line with the best international practices," Minchev said.
Ellingstad highlighted USAID's commitment to supporting North Macedonia's efforts for improving public administration processes and nurturing a culture of openness and accountability in government institutions. He also noted the importance of joint initiatives that contribute to a more inclusive, accountable and effective governance system.
Interlocutors reaffirmed the commitment to promote and strengthen cooperation through projects that will further strengthen institutions and ensure more effective delivery of services to citizens, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
