Procedure under way for extradition of Croatian man: ministry
Skopje, 14 July 2022 (MIA) - A procedure for the extradition of the Croatian national Daniel Ivanagic has begun, the Justice Ministry said Thursday. Ivanagic is the co-owner of Interholding, a consulting company that is mentioned in the case involving the detention of former government secretary general Muhamed Zeqiri and "Macedonian Post".
Ivanagic was arrested in Slovenia after an international warrant for his arrest had been issued.
"The extradition request has been sent to the Slovenian Justice Ministry according to the deadlines regulated under the law on international cooperation in criminal matters and the European convention on extradition as he is suspected of abuse of power," the Justice Ministry said.
Ivanagic was out in extradition jail in Slovenia after being arrested based on an international warrant while trying to enter Slovenia at a border crossing.
North Macedonia's Foreign Ministry is yet to be notified about the case.
