Skopje, 9 August 2024 (MIA) – Makedonski Brod police on Friday to the Kichevo public prosecution sent charges against a man from Prilep, 57, suspected of arson, punishable according to the criminal code.

The Interior Ministry said that the man in two villages in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod on four occasions in late July and early August had set alight a fire outdoor, which spread turning into bushfires.

“All bushfires were put out by local firemen. Taking adequate measures involving the fires, local police officers found the man on the site of the fires. While being searched, he was in possession of items that could cause fires. He admitted to setting the fires when being questioned by the police,” said the press release.
