Skopje, 5 September 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova said in a social media post Friday that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, has congratulated her on Macedonia’s Independence Day – September 8. Siljanovska-Davkova expressed her gratitude for the greeting, which she said is not just a confirmation of the firm U.S. - Macedonian friendship and strategic partnership, but also a reason for their further promotion. 

“Sincere gratitude to the President of the United States and the American people for the congratulations extended over the 34th anniversary since September 8,” Siljanovska-Davkova wrote in the post. 

“The messages of recognition, understanding, and support, contained in the greeting, which was presented to me by Ambassador Angela Aggeler, for us are not just a confirmation of the firm U.S. - Macedonian friendship and strategic partnership, much needed during efforts to put an end to armed conflicts, tackle international crime and guarantee lasting peace and security, but also a reason for their further promotion,” Siljanovska-Davkova said.
