President Siljanovska-Davkova receives credentials of new Israeli Ambassador

Skopje, 25 July 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received Friday the letters of credence of the newly appointed ambassador of the State of Israel, based in Jerusalem, Vivian Aisen.

Siljanovska-Davkova expressed her gratitude for the assistance provided by Israel’s Sheba Medical Center, which treated 23 patients injured in the devastating fire in Kochani, noting this is yet another confirmation of the deep mutual understanding.

After three decades of diplomatic relations, the President expects broader and more intensive cooperation in agriculture, education, science, research and development, technology, and innovation.

According to her, the Macedonian Jewish community, as an inseparable part of our history and culture, represents the strongest bridge of Macedonian-Israeli cooperation.

Referring to history, which teaches that violence, regardless of its origin, deepens divisions, prolongs human suffering, and distances the parties from a just solution, she expressed her belief that sustainable peace can be achieved only through dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law and its principles and values, including the protection of human life and dignity.

During the meeting, the President reaffirmed Macedonian support for international efforts aimed at de-escalation and negotiations.

“The Middle East is in urgent need of peace, security, stability, and coexistence,” Siljanovska-Davkova said.
Ambassador Aisen expressed gratitude for the demonstrated respect enjoyed by the Jewish community in the country. She conveyed Israel’s readiness to share its extensive experience and expertise across various fields, particularly in agriculture, water management, healthcare, and cyber technology.

The discussion also covered the initiative for The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). Both sides agreed that our inclusion in the corridor would enhance trade, energy, and digital connectivity, given the country’s strategic location in the heart of the Balkans. For Israel, such projects are not merely economic corridors, but also bridges of peace, progress, and shared prosperity.
