Skopje, 30 July 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met Tuesday with Cassandra Fernando, Chairperson of the Friendship and Cooperation Group of the Australian Parliament, discussing the overall Macedonian-Australian bilateral relations and cooperation on a parliamentary level.
"President Siljanovska-Davkova said that MP Fernando's visit, the second one in a row, is confirmation of the commitment to strengthen cooperation. She also added that despite the geographical distance, the two countries continue to develop strong friendly relations, highlighting the Macedonian diaspora in Australia, which strongly contributes to the overall development of Australian society and acts an as important bridge between the two countries," the President's Office said in a press release.
The President stated that the country greatly appreciates Australia’s continuous support and assistance in the fulfillment of the country’s strategic goals and expressed hope that this cooperation will also be reflected in the cooperation on a parliamentary level.
"Siljanovska-Davkova pointed out that economic cooperation, however, does not follow the good political relationship the two countries have and assessed that there is a great untapped potential for the development of economic cooperation and increasing trade exchange,” the press release said.ssh/ad/
