President Siljanovska-Davkova concludes working trip to U.S.
- President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, concluded her working trip to the United States for the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly with a visit to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Macedonian Orthodox church in Detroit.
Detroit, 29 September 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, concluded her working trip to the United States for the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly with a visit to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Macedonian Orthodox church in Detroit.
During her stay in the United States, the President addressed the UNGA general debate themed “Better Together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights”, and met with the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres.
The President began her visit with an address at the High-Level Meeting to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the 4th World Conference on Women, after which she attended the “Women Rise for All” lunch hosted by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, as well as a reception for heads of delegations from Southeast Europe, organized by the American Balkan Chamber of Commerce, and a high-level dinner within the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly Platform of Women Leaders.
In New York, Siljanovska-Davkova also attended a reception hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as a reception for the Western Balkan leaders hosted by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
The President addressed the Concordia Annual Summit, and a plenary session on the 30th anniversary of the World Youth Program.
President Siljanovska-Davkova also gave an address at the Columbia University World Leaders Forum.
She concluded her visit to New York with a reception marking 30 years of diplomatic relations with the U.S.
At the end of her trip, in Detroit, Siljanovska-Davkova attended a gala dinner marking the 20th anniversary United Macedonian Diaspora, during which she received the “Global Statesman” award.
