President Siljanovska Davkova meets Japan Ambassador Otsuka

Skopje, 24 June 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Monday with the Ambassador of Japan, Otsuka Kazuya, referring to further strengthening of cooperation and bringing the two countries and nations closer.

Siljanovska Davkova expects bilateral political dialogue to intensify in the future, for the purpose of enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and culture. In this context, she welcomed the Japan-funded projects in regional states, which are expected to promote the development of economic relations and increase the investment interest of the Japanese business community, the President's Office said in a press release.

The President also highlighted the Macedonian participation at Osaka EXPO 2025.

She thanked Japan for being one of the largest donors and its continued support in the fields of education and health, through projects on technical cooperation and various grants.

Interlocutors also noted that 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 100th anniversary from the birth of renowned architect Kenzo Tange, who largely contributed to Skopje's reconstruction after the 1963 disastrous earthquake, reads the press release.
